Word’s With Friends Saves Lives!
In a bizarre twist of events, Zynga’s ever so popular ‘Scrabble’ clone ‘Words with Friends’ actually helped to save a life yesterday!
An Australian, Georgie Fletcher, was paired up with Beth Ledger from Blue Springs, Missouri. During this game, Georgie’s husband Simon was experiencing difficulties, these difficulties were communicated through the game which beth described to her Husband Larry; Larry is a doctor.
The symptoms were recognized by Larry, and Georgie’s husband was urged to head to the nearest hospital. There they found out that Simon had a 99% blockage near his heart. Simon was treated, and is now resting comfortable today.
“Had Larry not sent that message I don’t think Simon would have gone to the doctor that day,” Beth said.
There you have it, Words with Friends just conquered another incredible milestone, it has now saved a life….. Apps these days.
